The town of Mali Lošinj is the place with the largest merchant marine of the Croatian Islands. Great attention is being given to preserving its natural and cultural resources and it promotes itself as health and sports destination. The city of Mali Lošinj sets sustainable tourism development goals in their tourism strategy and aims to achieve them by the year 2020. They are nationally considered as an example of good tourism management and sustainable practices. Moreover, in 2016 they also won the award of the European Tourism Indicator System for Sustainable Development (ETIS).
This destination participated in the ‘Best of Top 100 Awards’ at ITB Berlin 2018 and was the 2nd winner of the Best of the Mediterranean awards category.
This destination participated in the 2019 Sustainable Top 100 Destination Awards at ITB Berlin and was the 2nd winner of the Best of Europe awards category.
